The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) offers scholarships in Germany for international students for postgraduate courses range in German universities aimed at providing academically educated young professionals in developing countries with more specialized studies.

Value of the scholarships / inclusions / duration:

The awards consist of monthly payments of 750 euros for graduates and 1,000 euros for PhD students; payments towards health, accident and liability insurance coverage; and travel allowance, unless these costs are covered by the country of origin or another funding source.

The duration of the scholarship is 12 to 24 months (depending on the particular institution)

Eligibility:

• Operates either a public authority or a state or a private company in a developing country and, as such, is engaged in the planning and implementation of guidelines and projects focusing on development policies affecting the technological, economic or social.

• holds a bachelor's degree (usually four years) in related field.

• Completed a university degree with above average results (top third) and at least two years of related professional experience.

• His / her university degrees should normally not be older than six years.

• For courses in German: DSH 2 or TestDaF 4; at the time of application German skills at completed level A2 are required. In addition, German language courses at level A2 or B1 are highly recommended.

• For courses in English: IELTS (Band 6) certifi cate or TOEFL (minimum score 550 paper-based, 213 computer based, 80 internet based)

Instructions for applicants:

Applications should be addressed directly to the respective courses, except for Cameroon where applications must be submitted by the German Embassy. Please consult the respective websites of courses for the application process, the application deadline and submittals. Deadline varies with the price, but falls around August to October 2016.
